Go to the Park
Bozeman prides itself on providing ample areas for parks and open space. This outdoorsy town has plenty of parks with different amenities for whatever activity you have in mind. Head to Kirk Park for skateboarding, Lindley Park for lounging and picnicking under the huge shady trees or splash in the creek at Bogert Park. There are also a number of neighborhood parks throughout Bozeman, too.
Bozeman Beach
Even though we are surrounded by mountains, there are a couple of “beaches” here in Bozeman too! At the 100 Acre Gallatin Regional Park, there is a small pond with small sandy beach area. There is also a playground there at the Dino Park as well as walking and biking trails. On the north side of town, near MAP Brewing is the Bozeman Beach. It’s a larger pond with a small dock, volleyball courts, a climbing rock, walking trail and restrooms. This is a great spot for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding.
Bogert Pool
Since it’s chilly most of the year, we don’t have many neighborhood pools in Bozeman. Downtown there is one city pool to cool off in when it does get hot – Bogert Pool.
Belgrade Splash Park
Belgrade is a short 15 minute drive from Bozeman and worth it to cool off in the splash park located at the Lewis and Clark Park. Along with the water park there’s a playground, skate park and open space to lay out and picnic.
Take a Hike
There’s a hiking trail close by no matter where you are in Bozeman! We have in town trails and plenty of hikes up in the surrounding mountains. Sometimes kids do better with a cool destination like a waterfall or lake.
Bozeman Library
The Bozeman Public Library has an amazing children’s area with tons of books and a play area with blocks. Check out their events calendar for kids and adult events.
Jump Time
Out in Four Corners is Jump Time – Bozeman’s only trampoline park. If the weather is bad or the kids just need to get some energy out, visit Jump Time! They have obstacle courses, dodgeball, a ninja warrior course and basketball. It’s fun for kids and adults!
Museum of the Rockies
Camps
There are camps for every interest: arts, sports, music, theatre and more! The YMCA offers several day camps during the summer. Camp Agape is another option for summer camps.
Volunteer
Summer is a great time to get kids into volunteering and teach them the joy of giving back to your community. The Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter has a cat cuddler program and canine story time for younger kids. Older kids and adults can be trained to work with dogs. The Gallatin Valley Food Bank also has great volunteer options for kids.
